Medical translators work in a field where there are high demands, so it is very important that medical translators have two qualities. First, they need to know the language they translate into (target language) very well, but also of course the source language. The most optimal is that they are native speakers of target language and possess a university degree in this field. Secondly, they must have very good medical knowledge, especially in the special area in which they translate texts. It is best that they also possess a university diploma in medicine or that they have been actively working in this field.
